Is it possible to visit Uluwatu temple and then the Kecak dance without booking through a travel agent. We were thinking of spending the afternoon at the beach around there and then visiting the temple. Can you walk from the temple to where they hold the dance also is it then possible to walk to some of the beachfront restaurants for dinner and catch a taxi back to Legian,
Kecak Dance at Uluwatu
Yes all that is 100% possible and very easy.
If you get a driver to take you there he might even wait until the dancing is over to take you back. There are literally hundreds of drivers waiting for the dancing to finish to take you back wherever you want to go
Kecak Dance at Uluwatu
hi, this same question was answered a couple of days ago. it is best and cheapest to book yourself a driver off the street. pay approx 200,000 to 250,000rp for approx 4 hours for the driver (depending on the location of your hotel) and this will give you plenty of time to explore other places as well as uluwatu and the kecak dance. eg GWK cultural park http://gwk-culturalpark.com/,
jengalla pottery, dreamland.
you will need your driver to stay and wait at uluwatu to take you back to your hotel. all the drivers wait. don%26#39;t get dropped off there and hope you will get a taxi or driver as it is not like elsewhere where there are literally dozens of offers of transport. these drivers you see waiting there are already booked by the people visiting uluwatu. apart from the dance and temple there is only a few small warungs selling refreshments and very basic meals. better to dine elsewhere. it is best to get to uluwatu about one hour before sunset so you can enjoy the view and look around. leave your driver with the money for the tickets and ask him to meet you at the entrance to the dance to save you walking back and getting the tickets. 50,000rp each. the kecak gets started just as the sun sets. the seats are hard so maybe take something to sit on. after the dance is over ask your driver to take you to a venue for dinner perhaps in trendy seminyak or jimbaran bay. i find jimbaran is over priced for seafood but it is nice dining along the beach front. there is a huge selection of good restaurants in %26#39;eat street%26#39; or JL laksmana in seminyak.
May I know what time is the kecak dance performance? and how long is the performance?
The performance is about an hour long and normally starts at 6pm (sunset).
