Visting Jakarta April 3-April 6: Hotels Near Best Nightlife

Hello All,

My friend and I will be visiting Jakarta from April 3 thru April 6 and wanted to know which hotels are in the best locations regarding night life?

I visited Jakarta last October and stayed near the Crowne Plaza and remember having to take a taxi to get to places such as Red Dawn, Shangri La and Block M. I prefer to be closer this time and not be so dependent on taxis if possible.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Oh yeah, and if we could keep it under $100 USD per night that would be ideal. Cheers!

Actually Crowne Plaza is pretty central for the price.

If you want something more central such as Grand Hyatt, Nikko. The price will go over $100. Sari Pacific can be an option but the hotel is quite old.

Which area you are planning to visit because the nightlife in jakarta is distributed to several districts.

Hey verdims,

thanks for the quick reply. we are not sure where exactly we want to stay. Just in a location that we can safely walk around and hit some clubs/bars that locals and/or expats go too.

We are open to taking the Blue Bird taxi cars around but we are also looking for convenience. What area is the Shangri La in and is there anything else nearby? We had fun the last time we were there.

Thanks again!

Shangri-La is in the city center, beneath the office towers. Some clubs are located in the office towers, but not so much and pretty much scattered, so taxi is still needed.

And speaking about your budget, Shang is absolutely off your budget (especially if you%26#39;re not Indonesian or hold Indonesian resident status).

Maybe now you can try with the expat area around Kemang, it%26#39;s not too far from Blok M, many cafes, pubs, and bars lining the street. Some hotels you can check out: Grand Kemang, Grand Flora, or Alila Icon (this one might be more than USD100). If you like Blok M area, you can consider also Amaris Hotel (2 star, basic amenities, but quite clean).

Shangri-La is not beneath, but in between office towers (pardon me for my error).

Currently the must-visit venue in Jakarta%26#39;s nightlife is X2 at Plaza Senayan. The walkable hotel is Atlet Century Hotel (but it%26#39;s not that good especially if you%26#39;re fussy as the hotel hasn%26#39;t been renovated for years). So as an alternative, Crowne Plaza or other hotel in South Jakarta is still pretty good.
