a group of us are traveling to bali for our sons 21st b/day.

us wrinklies are staying in sanur, but need to organise a hotel for the youngins in kuta!

bounty? troppo zone? any thoughts?

Just bumping this post so someone who knows Kuta can answer.

Just be aware that the Bounty Nightclub (not the hotel itself) has been having problems with alot of violence in recent months.

Bounty is a good choice for young travellers, although you can get over the 24-hour party scene by the fifth-seventh day depending on how long you stay there and how much you can put up with a non-stop drinking and loud music atmosphere.

If staying longer than a week (say 2 weeks) I would recommend staying at Bounty for 1 week to experience Kuta night life and beach, etc, than off to a much more relaxed place (such as Sanur or Legian) for a ';real'; holiday.

Also recommended to request a room as far away from the main pool as possible because at 3am in the morning the least thing you want to be listening to is R%26amp;B or Dance music.

I%26#39;d go Barong, it%26#39;s in the right area, good price and has a good atmosphere around the pool. At least here when you can sleep when you want.

My daughter and a large group of her mates (aged 18-19)stayed at the Bounty for 10 days recently.

Definitely not my cup of tea, but they partied hard and had a ball.

if they want to be a very short walk from poppies and the bounty but not stay there then the adi dharma hotel is an alternative. right in the middle of kuta it is just far enough away from all the action but easy access to all the night life, shops restaurants. the benefit is you have a hotel where you still get a decent sleep. there are still plenty of people to mix with and the pool has a swim up bar.
