I have stayed at Blue Moon Villas in Amed which was a really lovely place to stay. We often walked down to Life in Amed which was equally as nice although I cannot comment on the rooms. Lunch was very nice there and cheap and a great beach side setting. Blue Moon is up the hill so has a great view. I don%26#39;t recall seeing Coral View Villas when I went in Sept 2004. Amed is a great place to visit and not as commercialised as some parts of Bali. Beautiful.

We have just come back from Bali and stayed last weekend in Coral View Villas in Amed. We all loved Amed, it is quiet, not commercial, relaxing and the snorkelling is fabulous. There were six of us in three villas. The villas we were in were fairly basic but totally adequate with good space, a verandah on each, an indoor/outdoor bathroom, aircon that worked, and a comfy bed. The gardens and pool in Coral View are lovely (perhaps the pool could have less chlorine added though?) and the restaurant has really good food. Outside and opposite on the main road, there are numerous other restaurants which are really great and much cheaper - try Warung Wayan. We snorkelled on the beach just in front of the hotel and the coral is excellent, plenty of colourful fish and other marine life. We took boats up to the Japanese wreck and snorkelled up there too, it only took around 25 mins to get there and there are plenty of local boat operators who will approach you on the beach. All in all, Amed made a great change from the Bali you know down south. If you want a relaxing and stress free break, with great snorkelling and diving, this is a really top place. If you are looking for luxury and white sands, then it is not for you. I can%26#39;t wait to get back there and will stay at Coral View Villas again.
