i wish to blend with local lives, enjoy local food do a little bit shopping. but 1 thing: i%26#39;m very weak in identifying direction and location. any advice for me?

many tks,

Hi

Jalan Jaksa is basically famous for backpacker hostel. The price is considerably cheap around SGD 10 per night for shared room.

I can%26#39;t find any web link to the hostel there. but you can check this link for more info http://www.jalanjaksa.com/

Jalan Jaksa is very central and nearby to the Jalan Thamrin (Jakarta CBD) and walk distance to Jalan Sabang food street, Sarinah dept store, Plaza Indonesia, Grand Indonesia etc.

How much is yr budget? If you can spend more abt SGD 50 per night, you can stay at Hotel Ibis in Jalan Wahid Hasyim, it is the main street of Jalan Jaksa

Tks Verdims.

My budget is US$20 per nite. Thinking about Banga (www.bangka-bnb.com)but afraid that it%26#39;s not safe and not easy to go back after dark say e.g. 8pm. I prefer somewhere can be reached by public transport. Suggestion?

depeend you have budget

if you have SGD 50 you can stay in ibis hotel at jl wahid hasim but if you have SGD 20 you can stay in jl jaksa area ( bloom steen, Djody, selecta, borneo and istana Ratu hotel )but for shooping you can go to tanah abang, ITC mangga dua, mangga dua square, and Plaza Indonesia.but if you want shoping in factory out let ( FO ) you can come to bandung couse is there have good kwalitas

tks bandungchild. any website or photos of the bloom steen, djody ... etc?

will it be difficult if stay at jl jaksa and go shopping at tanah abang, itc mangga dua etc by public transport?

tks.

no website that I known of. But those are standard backpacker hotels and quite decent for the budget. To Mangga Dua, you can take taxi (abt 20 mins) and cost around IDR 40,000. or you can take Trans Jakarta bus from Sarinah bus stop toward Harmoni interchange and change to the Trans Jakarta bus toward Ancol and you can alight at Mangga Dua Square. From Mangga Dua Square to ITC mangga dua main compound is abt 10 mins walk

btw to Tn Abang is very easy, you can take Bajaj only 5 mins from jalan Jaksa
