Mercure Ancol

Does any one know about this hotel and the location. Is it a good place to stay. First ime in Jakarta and plsn to do a bit of the sights a bit of shopping, and a bit of the night life. Any suggestions Also should I ask for transfers from airport

Mercure Ancol

Hello,

Mercure Ancol is the hotel located inside a recreational park. People usually stay here for these reasons:

1. Holiday

2. On convention (where the event is held on the convention center adjacent to it)

3. Playing golf

If you have intention to enjoy the whole facilities within the recreational park, then this is the perfect hotel. (There%26#39;s a theme park, an art market, a wildlife center, a Sea World, a waterpark, golf course, beaches, and restaurants)

But if your plan is to go outside and see the city, I suggest to try another hotel which is more central. (You need to pay the entrance fee everytime you enter the recreational park).

For first timers, why not stay somewhere in the city center, there are some hotel choices:

3 stars: Ibis Tamarin, Ibis Arcadia (both are Accor Hotels, opposite of each other)

4 stars: Pan Pacific Jakarta, Hotel Aryaduta

5 stars: Grand Hyatt, Shangri-La

Hi,

I recently stayed in this hotel and although I think it%26#39;s pretty nice and the seafront location is cool, it does not really make a convenient base for exploring the city because of its location inside a darling harbourish complex (but without the shops and restaurants).

if you are looking for something in a similar price range, try the Mercure Hayam Wuruk or the Ibis Thamrin.

Don%26#39;t bother organising a transfer from the airport. There is no need to organise transfers from the airport. There are loads of taxis.

what%26#39;s time recreational ancol theme park closed

Ancol park itself open 24 hours (the main gate) as it has hotels inside.

But the attractions such as theme park, Sea World, art market, etc has its own opening hours.

Here%26#39;s some operational hours of the attractions on normal days (subject to change, especially during school holidays).

Dunia Fantasi (theme park)

- Mon - Thu : 11:00 - 18:00

- Friday : 13:30 - 20:00

- Weekends : 10:00 - 20:00

Gelanggang Samudra (Marine wildlife center)

- daily : 09:00 - 17:00

Atlantis Water Adventures (waterpark)

- Weekdays : 08:00 - 18:00

- Weekends : 07:00 - 20:00

Seaworld

- daily : 09:00 - 18:00

Gondola (cable car ride, spanning across the beach)

- daily : 09:00 - 18:00

OutbondHolic, Ancol Adventure Park (outbound park)

- daily : 09:00 - 17:00

In addition, every Sunday morning there will be Sunday Market (sort of bazaar selling fresh produce, food, and other items you might find in the market). Open from 6AM to 10AM.
