Playstation 3 games

Hi all, my son wants to buy PS3 games in Bali but wants to know the pros and cons. Will they work back here in OZ and are they good quality? will we have to %26#39;chip%26#39; the machine?

any thoughts appreciated...and apologies if this topic is covered elsewhere.

Yep you can get and yep you need a chip I have bought plenty of games in Bali for all machines and I would say 90% are good. Just a few are bad reading or don%26#39;t work at all.

There are no mods available yet for PS3 to play backups.

You might be able to by original games but I didnt see anywhere.

Maybe at Denpasar airport but dont expect any huge savings.

My son always takes his PS2 with him. I would recommend you get your son to take his. That way he can check the games and get it chipped and make sure it works. The odd games that didnt work the shops gladly exchanged as long as you keep your receipts. It definately worth it. It bought me and my husband some free time too which was great.

Also, to add to Wendy%26#39;s post if you have your Playstation with you in Bali you can then watch any dvd movies you purchase on the console and be sure that they work. Some DVDs cut out half way through watching a movie.... which is very disappointing! Another DVD we purchased only showed the trailer.
