White water rafting-Which river?

huh?nobody tried?impossible..

any kind soul?

I did the Ayung about a month ago - I can tell you the steps really take it out of you! Going down is ok - bit treacherous - but going up is a killer!

The river is fairly calm but very nice. Good for those who are a little nervous, youngsters or first-timers.

You should note not all rafting comapnies start or finish in the same place on the Ayung. From memory I think we had a couple twos and one that I think they said was a three (but I doubt it) in our two-hour float. Anyways, like I said, its not very scary or terribly challenging but is fun and nice and a good introducion to rafting. I didn%26#39;t but would have taken my 7 y.o. daughter if I%26#39;d known that it wouldn%26#39;t be too tricky - she would have loved it!

I haven%26#39;t done the rafting but have been researching it as the boys want to do it this trip. From what others say:

Ayung river is good for the scenery, but at Telaga Waja area the paddy 鈥?rice terraces are beautiful.

For bit more activity the Telaga Waja is better,but with a big drop near the end. Lots of steps on the Agung.

A number of people seemed to prefer Bali Internantional Rafting on the Telaga Waja river (from near Rendang and which ended up in Klungkung). It is the longest raft ride on that river and has the least steps at the end. Someone else noted that they had been with Sobek but B.I.R. ';was heaps better, they were very professional';

So, hope this helps with your decision.
