Hi All,
I have been to Bali several times over the past 10 years and am going again in Septemeber. This time though my husband and daughter (3 YO) will be coming. Not that its a bad thing but I am very worried about my little one getting sick and not being able to eat the food, etc. I always stay in kuta at the Inna Kuta Beach hotel, but have seen Bali Dynasty and think it looks pretty good for kids. Has anyone got any advice, thoughs or feedback for me on taking young ones to Bali, etc...
Thanks
Hayley
First trip back in a few years, need family advice!!
Hi Hayley
We go to Bali at least once a year and always take the kids. The food has really improved over the past few years. Most of the restaurants all have food you can get at home. I think 10 years ago getting ill from the food was an issue None of us, a family of four have been sick from the food. We tend to eat all over the place so I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll be fine. I agree with you the Bali Dynasty looks great for kids. Next trip where the whole family is going to go my sister has a 4yo we were thinking that would be the best hotel. Have a great time

Hi Hayley,
I would take an assortment of packaged foods that your 3 year old likes to eat. Our youngest was 3 when we first took her. We stayed at the Dynasty, great for kids, a little crowded and rowdy for the adults!! We had breakfast included so the girls had whatever they felt like, bacon and eggs, cereal, fruit and pancakes. For lunch sometimes we ate out or around the pool and the girls would have pizza, fruit salad, chips or we would buy bread and make sandwiches. We just took across some vegemite, jam and peanut butter. You can also buy juices, yogurts, biscuits, chips, cheese, milk etc at the supermarkets. At dinner they would have pasta, rice, chicken satay, pizza, chips etc. Gracie Kelly%26#39;s Irish pub/restaurant at the Dynasty had great meals for the kids.
We have been twice now with our girls and they have not caught Bali Belly. I recommend taking a small bottle of antibacterial hand wash, the type you can wash your hands with without using soap and water. If you carry this in your bag you can disinfect your hands whenever you are out and decide to eat at a restaurant. Also pack gastrolite just in case.
Oh fantastic...thank you both for your replies. It does make me feel a whole lot better about us all going.
My tip would be to bring aquadere (sp?). My kids both got ear infections from living in the pool. When the child gets out of the pool squirt some in their ears. Dries up the water.
Don%26#39;t let her swim in spas either. Havens for germs.
I%26#39;ve never had a problem with food.
Thanks for that I would never of thought about the ear infections. My daughter lives in the water.
HI
We go to bali yearly and last year took our 9 month old son for 2 weeks. He ate what we ate and had no problems. The only advise i can give is to bring baby wipes and antibacterial hand gel. We are taking him in july again and he will be 2. Cant Wait!!!
i found the Dynasty to spread out you have to watch them there
Hi Hayley
The Dynasty was great. The kids club may even give you and your hubby some time to yourselves. I highly recommend the candlelight dinner.
My kids were fine and not even a tiny bit sick while we were in Bali. Unfortunately, I get sick every time I go. Stay away from seafood that can be masked by strong spices - I have a weakness for chilli but will be staying away from it when we head back in October. The aquaear advice was spot on - the kids always complain of water trapped in their ears and the aquaear helps drain it.
Have fun.

Aquaear is good for adults too. I had ';swimmers ear'; when we first came to Queensland to live, it%26#39;s very painful, so worth the effort to avoid getting it.
