Just back from Sanur

Hi Everyone,

First thanks for all the advice and tips on the forum. Certainly made our trip that bit more special. Great flight on Garuda from Perth Sun 15 March. Stayed at Griya Santrian, Sanur (for the fourth time) - in newly renovated garden wing room, fabulous, literally 3 metres from our terrace to new garden pool. Huge room, no problems whatsoever. Hotel lovely as usual and staff always smiling and ready to help.

As always had some yummy meals in Sanur - thanks Brigid for your tips - had breakfast most mornings at The Wicked Parrot next to Griya on main road. Great prices and good food. We had dinner there one night while listening to the Bali Leprechaun Band - great laugh. Spent St Patricks Night at the Cat and the Fiddle - good food and great entertainment and drinking green Bintangs!!! Other restaurants we went to - Massimos, Bonsai Cafe (great chicken sates), Bennos, Cafe Batujimbar, Kayu Manis (my personal favourite) and Kesuma (first time there and great seafood). On our last night as usual, took a trip to Ku De Ta for drinks and snack while watching sunset, and then a stroll along the beach to La Lucciola for our last dinner - fabulous as usual!!!!!!!

Did a day trip with our driver, Ketut, to Bedugul, Lake Bratan and Git Git waterfall -lovely to get up into the mountains - loved the temple on the lake and the waterfall is worth seeing.

Shopping - went to Kuta, did Mataharis, Poppies 1 and Poppies 2 one day. Also went to Carrefour Shop - worth going just to see the fresh food section and to stock up on cosmetics! Jenny and Tootsie%26#39;s fixed price shops in Sindu Markets at Sanur a must - loved the luxury of looking around the shop without being hassled and got good prices too. Hardys is always worth a trip and got some lovely baby clothes.

Great manicure on beach outside Besakih Hotel with Mandy and Penny. Also had a couple of hair creme baths at little salon opposite Griya on main road. My husband had a massage every day we were there - his luxury as well as all the bintangs he can drink!!!!!

Exchange rate was good - most of the time we were getting 8000. Light blue cabs excellent - no hassles.

So another fabulous trip to Bali ended after 10 nights and now counting down until we go again in October!

Our second home, as our family and friends say, was as wonderful as ever!

Just back from Sanur
