Can someone advise me is it safe to travel by public transport from Novotel hotel in Yogjakarta at night?

In comparison, which hotel is better, Iblis Malioboro or Novotel?

Yes, of course it%26#39;s safe. Trans jogja bus operates until around 9pm at night, plenty becaks and taxis are also available outside the hotel.

Ibis is better in location as it is in the centre of Malioboro areas but the room is relatively smaller. However, Novotel location is also not bad as it%26#39;s walking distance from Galeria (a shopping mall) and not far from Malioboro.

Yep, Ibis Hotel is smaller, but OK. I would recommend Ibis since it is right at the center of Jalan Malioboro. It definitely saved us a lot of time when we were there, and also it was very convenient.

As for the trip around Jogja for sight seeing/shopping/etc, don%26#39;t worry since you can rent a horse-cart for Rp 30,000 per day.
