This really is a hotel where you will get a mixed bad of reviews. Check out the reviews of it on this website, I think there are plenty.

I stayed there, but it was in 1999, so I feel its a bit far off to say fairly, but our group was more than happy with it. It was basic and clean and as far as 2 star hotels go, I think it was fine at the time.

There are usually plenty of younger people there, including party goers, so you may risk having people out and about late nearby.

Locadtion is very good, close to some great shops and restaurants, 10 minutes walk to the beach (approx). 2 pools (from memory - as there was 2 sectaions to the hotel)

Is on Poppies 2, so easy access to Poppies 1, close to JL Legian also. I think its more a location though for the younger people as clubs are close by also.

I don%26#39;t think people would recommend it to the people seeking a bit more quiet and relaxing on their holiday as there would be much better locations.

Stayed there last year, had to check out because the bed was the most uncomfortable ever, even after we were moved into another room the bed was just as bad. The room is very very very basic. Breakfast was ok. Located in central position, but I found you can get better places for the same price.

Stayed in May this year, room, bed etc all fine.

It was quiet when we(two 24 year old males) were there which was cool but Can imagine it might be a bit full on if full.

But yeah no bad quest when we were there.

Good location less than ten minutes walk, maybe five to the beach.

My husband and i just spent a week in the barong hotel (we are in our early 50s) and loved it. We stayed out the back, with the pool and bar open all night, and young ones in and out all night we still enjoyed ourselves. The Barong is in the perfect area for nightlife and cheap shopping, we wouldnt stay anywhere else.The bed is pretty ordinary and the rooms are pretty basic, but who cares?The food there is great and cheap, good value! going to bali in october looking to stay at the barong but would be interested in where else to stay for same price
