How much do they cost and do they usually overcharge or dont use the meter etc???

hi when you arrive walk out the front door off the airport turn right about 15 meters is the taxi office for blue bird taxi . it is a set price to your hotel .and yes most taxi in bali use the meter just tell them when you get in turn the meter on.they are as cheap as chips .kobrob

the taxis from the airport are set prices. you won%26#39;t be overcharged. there is a board displaying the set price. you simply pay at the booking counter and a taxi driver will take you to his cab. the cost is around 45,000 to 55,000rp. it will be slightly cheaper to get a taxi back to the airport. when you are choosing a taxi to use in bali try and stick with the %26#39;bluebird%26#39; taxis. their meters work properly.

allow 200,000 to 250,000 for a taxi to ubud. not sure of the exact price for %26#39;09 but this is close to the $%26#39;s.

Blue taxis are good, but if someone offers to carry your bags expect to pay we have all been caught and not having small change in Rupiah it can cost you.

Just back from Bali yesterday. If you are staying around the Hardrock Hotel the taxi fare will be 55000rp. But since there were six of us I got a van instead, thanks to the tips from Snookystraveltips.

So, if you need a van you have to walk further down from the taxi service counter because if you stand close to the taxi service counter these ppl with the van will not approach you. I paid 70000rp for the van to Hardrock Hotel.
