Le Meridien Nirwana...to good to be true ?

Second time to Bali...1st time stayed at Alum Kulkul in Kuta, hotel nice but didn%26#39;t like location.

Looked at staying at above hotel, it%26#39;s a lot cheaper than other similar hotels and I know it%26#39;s in the middle of nowhere. Don%26#39;t mind this during the day but do like to eat at different places at night. If it%26#39;s 40mins to Seminyak etc any ideas of how much a taxi would be and if there would be a problem getting a driver to get back at night. Thanks Sue

Le Meridien Nirwana...to good to be true ?

Hi, there are a couple of local taxi companies near Nirwana. Also there are two restaurants not far away at Echo Beach. I can%26#39;t remember how much the taxi cost now, however, we had the choice of meter or negotiation. The drivers also had a card of fixed price rates either by destination or the hour.

A couple of times we negotiated with the driver to take us into Legian and wait while we had dinner and return us.

It was not expensive. We had the drivers%26#39; mobile phone numbers so could phone direct and make booking with preferred driver.

The Meridien has a shuttle bus service to Kuta via Seminyak Legian a couple of times a day and on alternate days to Ubud.

If you wanted you could get the afternoon shuttle to Kuta and get a bluebird back after shopping/dinner.

We have just booked for December, having 9 nights at Meridien. This will be our 4th time at the Resort.

cheers

Le Meridien Nirwana...to good to be true ?

We%26#39;re off to Bali for the first time next week and will be staying at the LM Nirwana, and looking forward to it!

Any tips or advice about the place?

Has anyone stayed in the villas and are they clean and well maintained? Probably too late to be asking this now that we%26#39;ve booked but just seeking reassurance :)

Smithy

Thanks Wendy for your help . PSmithy could you let me know how you got on as well.

Hi Smithy

I have not stayed at the villas, however, when I have driven past, they look well kept from the outside.

I think the people in the villas can use the facilities at LM, is that right?

If so, the pool area is great with a big water slide, poolside cabanas, and lovely grounds. The resort has four restaurants and a sunset bar from which one can get snacks drinks etc and just relax and a excellent place to watch the sunset.

The restaurants have a theme night each once a week, the Nautilus Fun Pub has a pool table, Big screen tv with sports, and is casual. Serves mediterranean/italian type food.

hope this helps

enjoy your holiday
