Bali hotel rates in June

Hi

My family will be in Bali in early June. With the current financial global crisis, I am wondering if I should delay my hotel bookings in anticipation of better rates few months down the road? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

I really don%26#39;t think that is wise. At that time of year you are getting into peak season and tourist numbers to Bali are still high in comparison to previous years.

Our experience is that cheaper destinations do better in times of financial trouble and it%26#39;s the more expensive destinations that suffer.

For once I agree with Whinnie, book in advance, but if you%26#39;re looking for that elusive deal to save cash, contact the hotel directly and ask for their best price. You%26#39;ll be surprised at what they can offer you as opposed to the prices on their websites.

Which hotels are likely to give you a good discount if you contact them directly?

Try it with any hotel - they can only say no.

OK- but then my phone bill will be big, so the discounts might not matter...

If anyone has got a good hotel rate by going direct pls let me know

Thanks

I%26#39;ve had good deals by contacting hotels direct via email. Doesn%26#39;t cost as much as a phone call to Bali.

I would definitely start trying now. I have contacted many places in Ubud for June and they are either booked out or only have a few dates available.

Many of the ';larger'; places will still offer a good deal. Semiyak was the same. I contacted all through email with a quick response from most.

Hi

Thanks so much, all of you. Yep, I think I should book now. Shorter destinations are the craze given the current economic state we are in.
